Hali Weber (First Blog Assignment)

Susan Derges has been obsessed with water for over 27 years. All of her expiriments revolve around water and using it a a photographic element. She has worked with water and a strobe light, she has used water in a dark room to develop color paper while exposing it to light and she has used it as a subject.

Darcy Padilla did a series called The Julie Project. Since Julie was 18 years old, Darcy has been photographing her. Julie has AIDS and five children. Four of her children were taken away from her. She has lived in poverty all her life. The series follows Julie through out her life and is just really inspiring and breath taking.

Michael Kirchoff is a black and whit photographer who uses instant film. He is obsessed with the 2D world and putting his own spin on it. This photographs are from the series an enduring grace. he loves to push his depth of field to the extreme.

Timothy Archibald is the photographer "agencies call to make empathetic photographs of things that are a little bit different, a little bit curious." His most interesting series to me is called Echolilia. He has been photographing his son Eli since he was five years old. His son has a form of autism, so he views the world differently. Timothy captures his son perspective in this intriguing series. His son Eli also has a blog

Angela Strassheim take photographs of old suicide scenes. She uses a chemical that reveals the trace of blood and photographs it in black and white so the blood appears to glow off the walls. The series is called evidence and was produced in 2009, shown is a solo show in NY.
